At the start of the year, I was lucky enough to be gifted a set of Jabra wireless headphones through my work. My company has done some branding work for GN/Jabra, and these were a corporate perk-slash-bonus present. And so, I thought I’d give them a review.

Firstly, being wireless, they’re very convenient and get rid of that irritating cord-bounce that gets on my nerves during runs. They come with several different earbuds that lock absolutely perfectly into your ears, so you don’t have to worry about them falling out. They’re sound cancelling, and the music quality is really great- although being sound cancelling, you have to make a really conscious effort to be aware of your surroundings. (The first time I ran with them, I almost ran out in front of a car…my bad).

The main USP of these is that they’re not just headphones designed for working out with, but they can actually enhance your workout, because they track your heartbeat. These headphones are borne out of a great deal of research and expertise into wearable tech (the parent company of Jabra also makes advanced hearing aids). So, when paired with the Jabra Sport app, they can tell you distance run, pace, time and calories burned.

I have to admit, I’ve only tried running with the app a handful of times, since I initially had some issues connecting the headphones via Bluetooth to my old (and very knackered) iPhone. But since getting my new phone I’ve taken these bad boys out for a spin- I’ve had some issues with the accuracy of distance covered and pace (namely, the app overestimates these), but the heartrate and calories burned does seem to match up with my Garmin HRM and my own calculations.
So whilst I’m not 100% convinced about the technological side of things (the GPS), I do think the headphones are absolutely great. The sound quality is fantastic, and the cordless factor makes my runs so much less stressful!
Has anyone tried wireless headphones? What did you think?
Lots of love,
Pippa
I really, really, really want these and am saving all of my spare pennies to buy myself a par.

They’re pretty great! I wouldn’t take my word for it as they were a corporate freebie, but I do love them!

They’re pretty good. The only other thing I forgot to mention is that they need to be charged quite a bit (well, for me, cos I have music on 24/7). But they still charge v. quickly

I have tried them, the LG headphones, don’t like them. It’s the whole “world off” part I don’t like.

Haha that’s my favourite part! Not for all training, but for particularly horrific tempo sessions I need my tunes blaring!

I have JLab Go wireless Bluetooth headphones. Not had any problems, good sound. I’ve never noticed “world off” but I tend to be hyper-aware of my surroundings while out jogging anyway.

I won a pair of Jabra Sport Rox which I love for the gym, but don’t like to run with them as I like to be able to hear what’s going on around me and usually only put one earphone in. I recently bought a cheap wireless pair which work fine that way. I do like not having cables dangling all over the place!

After years of no headphone, I just started using wireless headphone, and you are right, they are a god send! Keeping out all the insistent chatter out on the floor.
Do have a look at my gymwear haul
